Surface Preparation:

Proper surface preparation is critical to ensure optimal bonding and long-term performance of the coating. Follow these essential steps:

1. Decontaminate the Surface: Ensure the surface is thoroughly cleaned and free of any contaminants or residues.

2. Remove Old Waxes and Coatings: Eliminate any previous layers of wax, sealants, or coatings before applying the new ceramic layer.

3. Correct Surface Imperfections: Ensure the surface is free of scratches, swirls, and stains. Any imperfections must be corrected using a polisher.

4. For New Cars: Even for new vehicles, perform a decontaminating wash to remove transport residues.

5. Degrease the Bodywork: The surface must be completely degreased. Use Vèritas diluted 1:5 before applying the coating. This step is mandatory for optimal results.

Application Suggestions:

1. Indoor Application: Always apply the coating in a covered, dust-free environment—never outdoors. It’s important to use PPE, such as a solvent vapor mask. Avoid direct sunlight and ensure proper ventilation in your workspace.

2. Environmental Factors: Temperature and humidity play a key role in the coating process. Higher temperatures and humidity levels will shorten the working time of the coating.

3. Work in Small Sections: Apply the coating to small sections, no larger than 50x50 cm at a time. Proper lighting is essential—use reflected light by pointing a lamp at a wall or ceiling to detect any smudges that need to be removed immediately.

4. Coating Fixation: The initial bonding time for SAM and HPC coatings from Labocosmetica takes a few minutes. Use microfiber cloths to remove residues and finalize the finish.

5. Post-Application Curing: Ensure that the car remains in stable conditions, avoiding rain and sudden humidity changes. The partial curing process takes 12 hours, and full curing is achieved in 36 hours. It is recommended not to wash the car for 7-10 days after application.

6. Infrared Lamp: If you have access to an infrared lamp, place it 50 cm away from the surface and heat it for 15-20 minutes at 60°C to solidify the coating further.
